SPEAKERS

Philip Shaw
Chief Economist, Investec plc

Philip has been Investec’s Chief Economist in London since 1997 and works closely with both its clients and internal businesses. Before joining Investec, Philip was Chief Economist at Union Discount where he gained a particular expertise in interest rate markets and central bank watching. He started his career with the Government Economic Service, before joining Barclays as an economist/econometrician. Philip has an economics degree from Bath University and a masters degree in econometrics from the University of Manchester. Philip is frequently quoted in the national and regional press and is a regular commentator on business and national TV.
