EVENT
Risk Management and the AIFMD
12 March 2014
The Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive ‘AIFMD’ has focused attention on risk management with the boards of AIFMs explicitly responsible for risk management policy. Even for funds out of the scope of the AIFMD, risk governance has been gaining importance with the Guernsey Code of Corporate Governance stating that “The Board should provide suitable oversight of risk management and maintain a sound system of risk measurement and control”.
This workshop will: discuss the evolving role of risk management within investment funds; describe the main risk categories; and, provide case studies describing the practical issues involved in implementing and overseeing an AIFMD compliant risk function for private equity funds as well as hedge funds.
Max and Savvas welcome questions during the briefing to ensure the discussions are lively and interactive.
