Launched on the 3rd January 2018, MiFID II has now been through the initial roll out period and the impact of the new regime on boards of all listed companies and their investor relation programmes is becoming clear.

The workshop will cover the key issues that have emerged, including understanding the target markets, how to communicate with these investors and investor engagement :

• Understanding the target investors relevant to each company;
• The scope and role of broker research;
• The role of the Corporate Broker;
• Paid for research and advocacy to identify relevant investors;
• Boards required to take more control of Investor Relation programmes;
• How best to communicate with and engage with Institutional investors, Wealth Managers and direct retail investors

SPEAKERS

CHARLIE COMBE
Director of European Sales, Edison

Charlie joined Edison from Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance where he worked in the capital markets team, focusing on providing nominated advisory services to companies listed on AIM. Charlie is a qualified accountant (PwC) and has worked for Barclays Capital in London and New York. He studied history at Edinburgh University. Charlie has recently completed an executive MBA at CASS Business School.

ELLIOTT BERSTOCK
European Head of Investor Relations, Edison

Elliott joined Edison from Capital Access Group, where he was an associate director of investor relations and joint head of the corporate access team. Elliott has over 10 years of experience in capital markets and advising companies on corporate governance and IR related activities. Elliott has a wealth of knowledge in promoting companies to a wide range of investors both in the UK and Europe. Elliott began his finance career as an accountant at Grant Thornton. He has a degree in accounting and fiscal studies and a masters in Law and is studying towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

TOM DURIE
Consultant, Edison

Tom has 30 years experience advising listed companies. He started his career at de Zoete & Bevan (BZW) in 1985 and subsequently held senior roles at HSBC Investment Bank, Winterflood Investment Trusts and Oriel Securities. At Winterfloods, he co-founded the highly ranked Investment Trusts team. He changed from his Corporate Broking and Advisory role to join investor relations consultancy Broker Profile in 2012 and subsequently was a co-founder of Radnor Capital Partners. At these firms his focus was advising Investment Companies and other listed companies on their communication and access to a wide range of investors.
