The great recession in 2007 and 2008 prompted Regulators globally to clamp down on corporate governance. Guernsey is not immune from this. In recent years the GFSC has demonstrated that it will punish conduct which falls short of the standard expected of non-executive Directors. This seminar will examine some recent case studies, how NEDs may take steps to protect themselves against potential sanctions, and finally what the future holds.
