Tony Shiplee, Director from Mourant Consulting will draw on his experience to highlight key considerations for writing effective board minutes.

Abel Lyall, Head of our Litigation practice will cover some of the issues we have encountered in practice and share case study examples and practical lessons learnt.

Frances Watson
Partner, Mourant

Fran is a Partner and Guernsey Advocate in the Corporate team at Mourant Ozannes (Guernsey) LLP.

With over 20 years’ experience, her practice covers a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters, finance, investment funds, insurance, listings, regulatory advice and restructurings.

In Chambers and Partners UK 2025, Frances is ranked Band 1 in Offshore: Corporate and Finance including Investment Funds. She is described as “client-friendly, thoughtful and responsive.

Abel Lyall
Partner, Mourant

Abel Lyall is a Partner of Mourant Ozannes (Guernsey) LLP and the Practice Leader of our Guernsey Litigation team.

His practice covers all areas of private client and commercial disputes, with a focus on trusts, financial services and investment funds.

Abel advises trustees, settlors and beneficiaries on all aspects of contentious and semi-contentious trust matters including breach of trust claims, trust applications and regulatory issues. He also has extensive experience in insolvency and restructuring, and act for creditors, directors, shareholders and insolvency practitioners on all aspects of contentious insolvency and asset recovery.

Tony Shiplee
Director, Mourant Consulting

Tony is a Director of Mourant Consulting, a regulatory consultancy business specialising in corporate governance, risk and compliance. In his role Tony works with a number of Guernsey regulated businesses in all of these areas.

Prior to joining Mourant Consulting, he spent 13 years at the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) in roles within the Supervision Division including Funds supervisor, Head of Unit of the Relationship Managed Supervision Unit and more recently as a Special Advisor on Financial Crime supervision matters.

He joined the JFSC having spent 14 years in retail, private and corporate banking, and Global Custody.
