We will explore the new board declaration on the effectiveness of material controls under Provision 29 of the 2024 UK Corporate Governance Code.

The workshop will cover the technical background, the work boards have already performed and how boards are now preparing for their first declaration, drawing from Deloitte’s experts and the practical experience of the participants.

John Clacy
Partner, Deloitte London and Channel Islands

John has responsibility for Deloitte Financial Services Audit and Advisory Portfolio Practice which includes the UK Regulated Fund business. John has been providing audit, assurance and advisory services to funds and fund managers for more than 30 years.

He has broad experience in delivering a range of quality assurance and advisory services to funds and fund managers from audit, strategic advice, due diligence, review of governance procedures pre fund IPO including financial position, and prospect procedures, fund liquidator regulatory consulting to remediation assistance.

Corrine Sheriff
Director, UK Centre for Corporate Governance, Deloitte

Corinne is a corporate governance specialist with over 20 years of experience in audit and corporate governance. She leads our governance activities across a range of stakeholder communities, enabling her to offer advice and present on the latest governance and corporate reporting developments with practical insights for implementation.

She regularly presents at the Deloitte Academy in London and runs one-to-one and group sessions with company boards, audit committees, company secretaries and executive management.

Corinne is lead author of the firm’s corporate governance publications, which provide a range of timely resources which help boards to implement leading-edge governance.
