EVENT
Can anyone confidently claim to see the economic future in 2020?
18 January 2019
VENUE: HARRY BOUND ROOM LES COTILS
With strategists claiming that relative moves in equity and debt markets across the world suggest recessions are being increasingly priced in, can anyone reasonably claim otherwise? Indeed if recessions took hold through 2019, could we hope they were short-lived or fear they will infect the 2020s? with central banks across the developed world having little room to loosen monetarily, and Governments with little fiscal ammunition matters might seem ominous. Were the developed world’s economies seemingly on the brink, questions are being raised concerning the health of China’s internal economy. A potential Hard Brexit can only compound concerns. Savvas will argue that whilst certain of these concerns are justified many are exaggerated and the UK’s economic future can be been in 2020 and seen so favourably
