CHRIS JACKSON
Global Head of FINEX FI Middle Market,, Willis Towers Watson

Chris is an Executive Director of FINEX Financial Institutions and heads up the Financial Institutions team in Ipswich. He joined Willis Towers Watson in April 2006. Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Chris worked for a rival broker for 26 years moving across to specialise in Financial Institutions in 1997. Chris was responsible for servicing and advising on the requirements of existing clients and in developing a book of clients in the alternative sector specifically hedge funds.

Prior to dealing with Financial Institutions, Chris headed the Medical Division responsible for placement of insurances for private hospitals on a UK-wide basis and was part of the team which successfully tendered for the high profile NHS Trusts in 1992 (during their first wave of purchasing Commercial insurance).

Chris is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute

LAURA SKAANILD
Senior Claims Advocate, Head of Finex FI GB Major Accounts Team, Willis Towers Watson

Laura is a solicitor with 17 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Laura joined Willis Towers Watson in 2012 and provides advisory, technical and placement insurance services to the Financial Services sector.

Laura trained and qualified at city law firm Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (now Clyde & Co) spending 9 years in the Professional Indemnity and Commercial Litigation Department.

This background allows Laura to provide significant insight into how underwriters may approach a particular matter and how the market works behind the scenes. Laura also has considerable mediation experience which has been key for advising clients using this method of dispute resolution, assisting them in achieving their desired outcome.

Martyn Redfern
Claims Advocate, Willis Towers Watson

Martyn Joined Willis in 2004 having previously worked for Royal & Sun Alliance. His experience of Financial Institution Clients through to small Retail Clients has given him a broad range of experience in dealing with claims scenarios across many sectors.

Martyn has been actively involved in a number of complex financial insurance disputes, involving asset managers, financial institutions and stockbroker. This activity has led him to be regularly involved in litigious claims including offshore entities negotiating with insurers and their lawyers to achieve best recovery for clients.
